The beaches, named
Praia da Marinha with its arches, Praia do Carvalho reached through a tunnel cut in the rock, and João de Arens, quieter, below the cliffs. They are the beaches worth the drive rather than the nearest ones — and from the estate you set off before the car parks fill. The Benagil caves are reached by boat from the same coast.
Coming back from the course
The Algarve is a golf destination, and the point of staying inland is what happens after the round: a private pool nobody else uses, a garden to sit in, and no hotel restaurant timetable. The concierge can arrange tee times and transport; you come back, you swim, that is the evening.
